Trainer Track: “I Turn My Camera On,” Spoon

In Trainer Track on January 13, 2012 at 7:59 am

It’s a new year, with new resolutions to stay healthy. Let Beat Jab be your guide to great music for working out. This week we dip back into our occasional feature, “Trainer Tracks.”

It’s funny, because a good workout song and a good party song share a lot in common. But where a good party song can sometimes work as a good workout song, the opposite is not often true. “I Turn My Camera On” is one sexy song. But it is decidedly not a party song. You’re not going to dance to it. You’re not going to hear it bumping in the clubs. But let it time out your footfalls and something amazing will happen.  You will find yourself urged forward, pushed to extremes. You’ll feel your heart fall into beat. Your pulse will quicken. This song has swagger. It’s confident and knowledgeable and it looks good in that. It’s not afraid to speak its mind. So turn your camera on. Put this song on. Let it lead you on. Let it tease you – let it dare you to play it one more time. Like a picture, you can go back and relive it over and over again.
